TWAEA, JUAA AND ONESQA CONNECT TO THE INTERNATIONAL STAGE FOR NEW OPPORTUNITIES
Under the impact of COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the field exchange, travel, and other international activities have not yet been restored to pre-outbreak levels. Therefore, the inter-agency staff exchange among Taiwan Assessment and Evaluation Association (TWAEA), Japan University Accreditation Association (JUAA), and the Office for National Education Standards and Quality Assessment of Thailand (ONESQA), which is run on a rotation basis, continues to be organized as an online video meeting. The event was successfully held on 1st December 2020, with the subject of “Training Program and Evaluation Mechanism for Assessors.” The three agencies shared experiences on reviewers’ training methods, program contents, and feedback investigation. In particular, considering the effects of the outbreak at present, organizing training programs with minimum physical contact and personnel movement became the focus for exploration and discovery.
JUAA utilized the problems and difficulties encountered during the training program as the entry point to bring forward the topic of waves regarding the training reformation of reviewers in recent years, including the adjustment of evaluation indicators, the structural planning of training contents, and the achievement evaluation of training. ONESQA shared their online training system and carried out deep discussions with participants from other agencies on the inspection and audit for assessors’ online training, and how the feedback mechanism shall be performed. TWAEA provided detailed introductions to the curriculum design of reviewers’ training program and Evaluation Management Platform System. It is worth mentioning that, aside from TWAEA, JUAA, and ONESQA taking part in the sharing sessions, JUAA has invited the Center for Education Accreditation, Vietnam National University - Ho Chi Minh City (CEA VNU-HCM) to join this event as an observer to understand the process of the program in the hope of broadening the international horizons through the interaction among personnel from different organizations.
